![]() I have seen that these apps aren't really 100% trustworthy so am taking the stats with a pinch of salt ![]() Prior to resetting my Mac, I downloaded a third party temperature/fan control app which read temperatures of 80-85 degrees celsius before I turned off my Mac for it's own safety. When playing a Logic Project with no third party plugins and 2 simple audio tracks this is what the Activity monitor showsįrom my non-expert computer knowledge I am assuming that a 93% idle cpu shouldn't be heating my MacBook up unless I had it on top of my stove!?īefore this overheating issue, I have ran massively more demanding logic projects over the last year and it hasn't flinched once. Interestingly, the performance of the unit is laser fast as usual. ![]() It is situated on a wooden desk and the room temp is usually around 20 degrees. After having completely wiped and reset the MacBook and carefully reinstalled essential things there is unfortunately no change.Įven with dealing with simple audio files and no cpu demanding plugins, my mac is gets hot very fast. I have reached out to Apple customer support and we came to the conclusion that a hard reset was the best way to sort things out (SMC NVRAM already reset). I've recently been getting bugged down by my MacBook getting very hot very quickly.
